The sunset glows on the Teton Mountains as another day concludes in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, USA.
As the leaves begin to change, the colors begin to fade and the snow begins to fall, summer nights are gone and winter is here. Wyoming, USA.
The beauty of a butterfly only lasts 2-8 weeks depending on the type before they die. All the more reason to appreciate the detail of each wing as they flutter past.
Springtime, San Sebastian, Spain.
Stillness in the air, power of the sea, another day closes, you and me. Hossegor, France.
Capbreton, France, home of surfing, baguettes, fresh mussels and a beautiful coast to bike along.
It’s easy to get lost down the various alley ways of Amsterdam, wandering the cobble stone streets, looking up at the tall narrow buildings which are slanting over time being built on a city surrounded by water, but getting lost is just what you want to do in this city because it’s how you find all the best spots.
You won’t find the red light district of Amsterdam on the outskirts of town hidden away from tourists or children’s eyes, instead it can be found right in the centre of town. Rows of streets and windows glowing red at night with women of all shapes, ages and ethnicities standing in the window hoping for some business. As a tourist it’s hard not to look, to question to wonder. A country so open, free and accepting yet the women who work in this profession appear like animals on display at a zoo.
Even on the coldest day the people of Amsterdam know the best way to get around town is by bicycle.
If you drive down Australia’s Great Ocean Road in Victoria you will find yourself standing on a cliff overlooking the Twelve Apostles. Impressive limestone formations stand tall in the ocean, once attached to the mainland they broke free as the waves crash up against them welcoming them to the sea.
A quiet beach, perfect blue skies, warm water and a sense of freedom. Fingal Australia.
A few shots from recently family photos taken for Neal, Britt and Eric in Chautauqua Park, Boulder, Colorado.
An amazing sunset over Denver, Colorado tonight. Sometimes as a photographer all you need to do is have the camera ready and let nature do the rest.
A hike into the wilderness of Aspen, Colorado mid September is the perfect start to fall. The tall Aspens tower over the trail and their changing leaves speckle the mountain side with bright orange and yellow leaves.
Conundrum Hot springs, Aspen, Colorado.
I recently completed a road trip on the back of a motorcycle from Ontario, Canada to Denver, Colorado. With limited space the only lens I took with me was my Canon 50mm f.1.4. The open air on the back of the bike allowed me to take a variety of photos while moving, stopping and exploring the country side. Some days were exhausting, some days there wasn’t much to see and other days were breathtaking to say the least. The following series of blog posts are a selection of photos from this road trip.
